David Letterman 2015: Former ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ Host Steps Out In NYC Unrecognizable!

David Letterman stirred up a storm in the media on Sunday when he stepped out in Manhattan, New York with his son, Harry. The 68-year-old "Late Show" host reportedly looked unrecognizable with his shabby and long beard.

Letterman has gone incognito after he left his show, and it seems he very successful "disappearing" with his completely new appearance. The father of one reportedly looked very different from the person everyone saw on screen for 33 years. He was dressed casually for the outing, wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt, cargo pants and sneakers, E! News reports. His 11-year-old son was beside him as they walked along New York street.

In June, a month after he resigned in his post as the host of the critically acclaimed "Late Show With David Letterman," he had an interview with Indianapolis Monthly. He dished what he was up to after quitting his program, which he hosted for 22 years.

"It's stunning what you find out about yourself when everything you've done for 33 years changes. It's like ice melting out from under you," Letterman said in the interview. He also revealed that he could no longer perform menial tasks on his own.

In the interview, Letterman told the magazine how he wished to do all the things on his own when he started his late night show. He reportedly didn't even want an assistant, but his manager convinced him that he needs one to make all his phone calls. The former television host and comedian reminisced that as he became busier, he realized that he couldn't operate a phone at all, and he don't know what to do with his hair either.

Now that he's away from the spotlight, he claims that he won't wear make up again. He dished that he's been busy spending time with his son, teaching him different strokes in fishing.

Letterman was first seen growing his beard weeks after he left his show on May 20. Since then, his facial hair has grown longer and longer and more disheveled.

Before he left his show, he once said, "I don't know what I'd do. I'd do a show in my house. Put up a little desk and have people in. Interview the Domino's guy."
