Game developer Square Enix on Wednesday has confirmed that IO Interactive's latest game, "Hitman," is slated to be released on March 11. It was said that included in the game's launch are six campaign missions, three sandbox locations, 40 signature kills, contracts mode with 800 targets and more. All these contents will be featured in the Intro pack, which is expected to come out on the same day, a report from iDigital Times said.
"The Intro Pack will be released at a reduced price, only costing $34.99. Included in the Intro Pack is three sandbox locations (Paris, Sapienza, and Marrakesh), and a weekly Live Hits and Events mode. The Intro Pack will be available to pre-order digitally starting in November," the report said.
Windows Central reports that "Hitman" will be available on Xbox One, PC and PS4. It was said that the game will have a different business model. Players who want to purchase the game including the post-release content will need to pay $59.99. This includes the game's beta test which will be rolled out only for PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.
"The Upgrade Pack will be releasing later, with new content coming out each month after the Intro Pack is released. There will be three new sandbox locations, with April releasing the Thailand location, May releasing the USA location and June releasing the Japan location. Campaign missions will also be included in the Upgrade Pack along with new signature kills, more Contracts Mode targets and more weekly Live Hits and Events," iDigital Times noted.
Gamespot reports that the game's physical version is slated to be released in 2016. Game developer Square Enix has yet to confirm the disc's release date. However, industry experts believe that the company will likely release the physical disc within the given timeframe.
"What we're also saying is that there will be a disc at the very end, so if you feel that's what you want, that's what you can have. Either way, you'll be paying $60. There will be no other prices, nothing else going on there. For some players it will be highly appealing to be apart of the live, expanding world, for others they may want to wait. You're going to miss out on some of that [contracts] stuff, but I still think it's a good bargain anyways," said IO Interactive creative director Christian Elverdam in a separate Gamespot report.
