‘Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5’ Gameplay: Video Shows Game is Still Full of Glitches Even After Day 1 Patch

A new report has surfaced on Wednesday saying that a gameplay video of "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" showed that it is full of glitches even after it has received a patch last week.

It was said that the video runs less than 60 minutes and was compiled by Eurogamer video supremo Ian Higton. He played the game on PS4 more than an hour and found that the game was a bit of "glitchy mess," considering that a 7 GB update was installed, a report from iDigital Times said.

"This isn't Eurogamer highlighting all of the glitches from a day of gaming either. This video says it represents only an hour's worth of playing on the PS4. There are 31 different glitches featured in the video. If the Eurogamer team didn't cut any out, that means there was a glitch at least once every two minutes of playing. That's insane," the report said, describing the game's glitches.

Eurogamer reports that "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" is now available in the U.S but it noted that the updated patch installed in the game has not improved the game's overall performance. In fact, the game is plagued with major bugs, as shown in the video posted on the site, even after the update was installed.

"We see Tony Hawk's dead-eyed character model spinning out of control at the most innocuous of collisions, and constant glitching into walls, the ground and half-pipes as the cel-shaded graphics collapse," the report noted.

With the gameplay video showing the title's technical glitches, some die-hard gamers also expressed their doubts about the patch intended to fix the game's issues.

"I kind of had my suspicions considering the fact that we didn't really see this game much in action, plus the fact that review codes are JUST now going out to major gaming sites and publications, if they get them at all. That last bit alone should be telling of the game's overall quality," a gamer named GoofierBrute said via the Destructoid website.

Another gamer named CaptainProtonX claims that he doubts whether the patch really intends to resolve the issues, saying: "I wouldn't call this a 'patch' as much as the rest of the code. I'm sensing they didn't address any of the real problems in the base code."

"Activision is charging $60 for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and $39.99 for the game on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3," The Verge reports.
