Search giant Google has finally unveiled the company's next-generation smartphones, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. The company's latest smartphones have been announced at a launch event held in San Francisco today.
Avid fans of Nexus smartphones are expecting that the company will announce some significant hardware improvements. Industry experts claim that Google's announcement about its latest smartphones confirm previous reports about the devices specifications and features, a report from iDigital Times said on Tuesday.
According to the report, Google's Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch full HD display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chip with 2 GB of RAM. The device's internal storage capacity will either be 16 GB or 32 GB. It was said that the phone's non-removable battery is 2700 mAh, which provides more power. When the phone hits the retail stores, it reportedly be available in various colors such as carbon black, frost white and ice blue.
BGR reports that the Nexus 6P phablet will feature a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with ultra HD 2K resolution. Inside the phone is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32/64/128 GB internal storage capacity. The phone's camera will be 12 megapixels on the back and 8 megapixels on the front. Other features are a fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port and a huge 3,450 mAh battery with fast charging support. It will be available in frost white, aluminum and graphite.
"Google has now confirmed that both the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will begin shipping during October. The Nexus 5X starts at $379 and the Nexus 6P starts at $499. The 16GB Nexus 5X will be priced at $379.99, but currently the price of the 32GB option is not known. It has been confirmed that the Nexus 5X will be up for pre-order on Google Play in the UK, US, Japan, Ireland and South Korea, in Carbon, Quartz and Ice Blue finishes. As expected the Nexus 6P will be a bit more expensive, the base model is 32GB and will cost $499.99 and pre-order availability includes the UK, Canada, Japan, US and Ireland," Know Your Mobile said.
