Like any other sports, soccer is indeed full of surprises. For you'll never know what trick would someone pull out during a game. However, during an amateur game between Brumadinho and Amantes da Bola in Brazil, an officiating referee pulled out something different. For this time around the Brazilian soccer referee pulled out a gun instead of a penalty card.
The players and spectators during the Brumadinho and Amantes da Bola match were all surprised when out of the blue a Brazilian soccer referee pulled out a gun amidst the commotion. According to the reports, referee Gabriel Murta pulled out a gun after he was allegedly kicked and punched by an Amantes da Bola player.
According to some spectators, it was when temper flared out on the field and things were getting out of control that referee Gabriel Murta was seen chasing a particular player in a red jersey. It was when the two men met that Murta was vividly seen on a video holding a gun. Fortunately his fellow game officials were able to convince him not to use his gun and exit the field. If you are like me wondering where the police or securities were during the incident, well according to the report of theguardian, Gabriel Murta is also a policeman aside from being a soccer referee. And for this action of his, Murta is set for a psychological assessment and would face a probable revoke of officiating faculty.
Brazil may have been considered as the home of 'The Beautiful Game,' but with the outcome of the said event, audiences might have seen its ugly angle. For the record, this is not the first time that a soccer event gone wild in Brazil. For in June 2013, a 19-year-old player who turned into a referee after being injured during a pickup game was stabbed to death and then dismembered by the crowd. And perhaps such event and other ancillary causes were the reasons behind Murta bringing and pulling out a gun in a soccer field.
