A footage of an unreleased video game of "South Park" was unearthed in an original Xbox test station by a YouTube user HappyConsoleGamer, who leaked the cancelled project online.
The untitled project was developed by Buzz Monkey Software, which is a free-roaming sandbox title featuring a similar game play with "Grand Theft Auto" series and the "The Simpsons: Hit and Run." Details and information about the game is scarce which was in an early state of development.
In the video, various game modes were featured including Cartman and other characters who are seen exploring the neighborhood, driving modes, and even a Street Fighter-style combat section with Cartman and a pack of dogs, IGN reported.
The said game, which was never announced and never revealed by its developer, consists of a series of playable test missions in various game play modes and storyline scenarios where players control South Park characters, iDigitalTimes reported. There are on-foot and vehicle-based missions that occur in South Park town featuring different characters and settings.
Since the game is unfinished, it has limited extent and has crashes, glitches and freezes. Even the game texture is incomplete wherein text like "Pavement" and "Grass" are seen instead of the texture mapping. Aside from that, there are also combat mechanics for a test mission that are inaccessible. Pre-rendered cutscenes with voiced dialog are also seen in the game. There is also a debug mode in some of the test, HappyConsoleGamer said.
Aside from this South Park game, several other in-progress games were found on the hard drive that includes a 3D platformer entitled "Cavegirl" and a non-playable demo from the film "Happy Feet."
Buzz Monkey Software is an Oregon-based developer who make console ports in 2000 like the PSP adaptations of the "Tomb Raider" franchise and a Wii version "Tony Hawk Ride."
