'Robin Wiliams' Vineyard Mansion on Sale With $3 Million Cut

Robin Williams’ former vineyard estate in Napa had been up in the market for 10 months and was priced at $25.9 million. Since, no one has bought the property, they decided to cut $3 million from the original price. Hence, the current asking price is now at $22.9 million.

The villa is tucked into the Mayacamas Mountains between Napa and Sonoma, about 90 minutes by car from San Francisco, Forbes reported. The property is considered as the "crown jewel of Napa" because of its beauty. It is a 20,000-square-foot mansion that stands on 639-acre property that atop the mountains. Williams, who is known for his comedian roles in "Mrs. Doubtfire," called the place Villa Sorriso which means "Villa of Smiles," according to Yahoo!

Said residence was built in 2003 by David Gast and Associates, inspired by the Palladian philosophy of dramatic architectural statements. The home has harmony and balance in design which is also extravagant and welcoming.

The villa, which was commissioned by Williams has five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms in 20,000 square feet. Its exterior has Portuguese limestone while inside it, it features oak-paneled rooms, climate-controlled wine and art storage, and a 12-seat indoor theater. A private tower can be accessed via a bridge in the master suite.

Apart from that, it also features a nine-stall horse barn, tennis court, hiking trails, infinity and lap pools, and a spring-fed pond.

The property is a working vineyard producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc varietals from the 18-acre lot. Grapes from the area are bought by Robert Craig Winery, which is known as a rated vintner according to Cyd Greer of Coldwell Banker listing. Aside from grapes it also has over 100 fruit-producing olive trees, Zillow reported.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were in the market, but decided not to purchase the property and opted for a 3-acre estate in Hidden Hills.
