A minor outrage occurred in Argentina in regards to the Pope's US visit. As per The Guardian, Kim Kardashian's innocent tweet made the headlines as a reporter misinterpreted the message content.
The misinterpreted post stating "The pope is dope" caught numerous fans' attention that caused an outrage. It may seem innocent but it sparked a debate putting Kardashian back into the headlines.
The simple tweet was retweeted more than 16,000 followers and the hashtag #popeisdope has been trending all throughout the pope's visit.
Innocent as it may seem, one Argentine reporter from the Primicias Ya website, mistranslated the tweet. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the reporter mistranslated the tweet stating that it simply meant "The Pope is Drugs" and "it cannot be interpreted as positive."
Readers however came into Kardashian's defense one of the readers then stated:
"Here in America, Dope is when something is good, extraordinary, inform yourselves before posting nonsense."
Just last month, the pope visited the US and he was greeted by hundreds of thousands devotees. He visited numerous states and held a mass in Madison Square Garden.
During his visit numerous celebrities flocked the event. During the pre-show, comedian Jim Gaffigan headlined the event. The main event however was star-studded as singer Aretha Franklin performed along with the band "The Fray." The entire event was hosted by Mark Wahlberg; other celebrities such as Jackie Evancho, Andrea Bocelli, Marie Miller, and Juanes and The Philadelphia Orchestra did their part in welcoming the pope.
The whole event in Madison Square was filled with entertainment prior to the mass. As per the Pope Francis website, a two-hour show took place and numerous performers participated in the event. Some of which are Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Hudson, Kelli O'Hara, Martin Sheen, [James D Train] Williams, and Norm Lewis.
