'Pixel C' Specs, Price: Google's First Produced Tablet Features A Smart Detachable Keyboard

Google has announced the company's first tablet, the "Pixel C". This is the company's first tablet considering that the Nexus gadgets were a product of Google and partnering companies. The "Pixel C" on the other hand, is solely designed and manufactured by Google.

The new Google device is a 10 inch tablet that won't be a replacement to the "Chromebook Pixel". The way they made the tab, it looks like they are aiming for the same look the Surface Pro 3 and iPad Pro have. This can easily be assumed as the "Pixel C" also uses a smart keyboard that detaches to the tablet. This innovative device magnetically attaches to the keyboard instead of using attachment tools. Google did not share everything about the "Pixel C" but according to TechRadar, knowing that that there is a full size keyboard included, we can just assume that this device is targeted towards the prosumer or students. With that tablet keyboard technology, Google may also be trying to take a tiny step on the water where Microsoft dominates.

Pixel C Specs

It was reported that the "Pixel C" won't come in Chrome OS. Instead, it will come with the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Furthermore, Only 32 GB and 64 GB models will be made, a little too low compared to Surface Pro 3's max of 512 GB. But this is Google's first tablet, so we shouldn't expect them to take a big leap. Additional info about the "Google Pixel C" is that it will use the new USB Type C connector like the "Nexus 5X" and the "Nexus 6P".

Pixel C Price

It was said that the tablet will be on sale in time for this year's holiday. The price will be around $500 for the 32 GB version and around $600 for the 64 GB model.

So far these are all the details that was said about the "Pixel C". This Google tablet may not beat the Surface tabs just yet, but it is definitely a great start. A tab with magnetically attached keyboard is already a big product for a company's first tablet release without the help of other manufacturers.
