‘Tokyo Ghoul’ Season 3 Updates: Story Will be Based on the Current Running Manga

It has been a while since fans got meaty information about the upcoming 3rd season of "Tokyo Ghoul." As the release has been confirmed in 2016, fans are clamoring for details of the plot of the anime adaptation.

Cross Map says that there are several fans of the "Tokyo Ghoul" manga who got disappointed with the season 2 anime adaptation. Fans are vocal about their complaint that the sophomore run has not been true to the original manga series as far as the plot is concerned. Thus, the disappointment paves the way for the 3rd season to stick to the original plot of the current running manga, "Tokyo Ghoul: re."

However, everyone knows that there are only 43 chapters of "Tokyo Ghoul: re." Having said that, there is again a possibility that season 3 of "Tokyo Ghoul" plot will not be 100% lifted from the source material.

This possibility of not following the current running manga is also mentioned in the report of Kpopstarz. So what happened to season 2 might be repeated in "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 because of the lack of material.

Inquisitr reveals some theory on what is to come in the upcoming season of "Tokyo Ghoul." It says that if the anime series will follow the "Tokyo Ghoul: Re," then "Haise Sasaki is in fact Kaneki. The half-ghoul has been resurrected in order to join a group of CCG investigators who have been surgically altered to be half-ghouls capable of using ghoul weapons."

In addition to its somewhat spoiler of season 3, it also mentions that Kaneko who suffers amnesia would from time to time hears a voice in his head. Sasaki aka Kaneki would be having issues, obviously. Thus, this season would apparently "focus on the dark and light aspects of his mangled personality, and even his hair color offers symbolism since the darker roots show that Kaneki's humanity is growing back."

In a different light, though the anime series has been delayed with its release, Pierrot and FUNimation have been consistently filling in the fans more of "Tokyo Ghoul" merchandise including movie and games. The company says that the mobile game and OVA will be faithful to the manga.

So what do you think of the upcoming season of "Tokyo Ghoul" anime series? Do you think the plot of the 3rd season will faithfully follow the source material?
