Red Dead Redemption is an open-world, western-themed, action-adventure game developed by Rocksta San Diego and was initially released in May 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It has been 5 years now, but According to Bleeding Cool, the game is still a favorite among some people of the last generation. For a very long time, the community has been requesting the developers to come up with a PC version, but until now it still remains a question.
However, recently, some light has been shed on this matter during one of the live streams of ex-Rockstar Multiplayer Designer Kris Roberts, according to Digital Spy. He reportedly said that the developers have not considered bringing the game to PC seriously. Roberts has also mentioned in his personal Twitch stream, "I don't think there was ever an intention to have a PC version of Red Dead Redemption. I was actually super shocked that they did a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5." the designer stated. "Obviously in development, we were all PC-based and had it running for win32 clients for the entire development. But as far as the licensing for the consoles and stuff, it was pretty much always going to be a Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title," he added. "To the best of my recollection, we never even seriously talked about optimizing it for PC."
Aside from those requesting for a PC version of Red Dead Redemption, there are also players who are asking for an Xbox One version of this popular game. Reportedly, it was once considered as the most requested backwards compatible game, followed by Black Ops 2. On the other hand, Digital Spy reports that Sony has no plans for backwards compatibility therefore Red Dead Redemption may be completely out of the question.
Is it really good to have a PC version of "Red Dead Redemption"? What are your thoughts about this matter?
