Based on a recent report by AL.com, if you are pursuing a career in the real estate industry, you should consider the two Alabama cities which are currently being hailed as the top place in the country in terms of real estate earning.
Using federal data, StartClass sorted through the country's 381 urban areas in order to determine the highest average salaries among real estate agents. Without question, New York City tops the rank and the real estate agents here are said to have earned an average of $90,340.
However Alabama has two cities who are not falling far behind in terms of being the best place for real estate agents to earn.
According AL.com Huntsville ranks 32nd on the list, with 160 real estate agents getting an average of $64,700 a year in earning. On the other hand Montgomery fared better being 25th in the ranks. The 90 real estate agents in the city are said to have an average salary of $66,800.
Meanwhile, in another report Mobile, Alabama is looking good in terms of real estate conditions. Recently, Realto.com reported that the first Airbus factory in the U.S. was opening in Mobile, AL, speculating that it would mean 4,000 additional jobs in the that part of Alabama. Since the announcement people have begun speculating if more jobs would becoming a desirable place to live. Layla Christian, a Realtor® with Re/Max was one of those with optimistic views. And while she admits that the places that have been hit by Katrina are still struggling, she says that there are many safe neighborhoods, especially on the west side of Mobile. Moreover the city was still city remains affordable with the average home price in Mobile at $125,000 and the average sold price in the city is $119,000. It may be way less than the states average of $149,040 but if real estate in Mobile picks up, Alabama may soon have not only 2 but 3 cities for real estate agents to thrive happily.
