The "Twilight Saga" star, Ashley Greene's West Hollywood Condo was reportedly caught up in flames Friday, March 22.
According to TMZ, the third floor unit in Granville Towers flared up due to a candle left unattended in the living room. Apparently the sofa caught fire. Greene, her assistant and brother were all out until late on Friday night. They crashed into the home and were sleeping when the fire broke out.
Greene and the two guys ran out of the apartment when the flames started lapping up the rooms. However, after they got out, they realized that Ashley's two toy fox terriers, Theo and Marlo, were still inside the home. The brother and assistant tried to rescue the dogs but in vain. The firefighters managed to save one of the dogs while the other perished due to the heat under the bed, reports TMZ.
According to KTLA news, witnesses and residents ran out of the building after they saw black smoke emerging from the apartment and called the fire station. Residents tried to put out the fire using fire extinguishers. Three people suffered slight burns.
"We responded to a high-rise fire. We fought aggressively to put that fire out. Had a second alarm called because of the nature of that building, multiple residents, for manpower," a fire department rep told USA Today.
Around 10 fire trucks came to the aid of the flaming building. The condo is completely destroyed and Ashley is devastated with the loss of her dog.
