It was likely that the "Arkham Knight" may be the end of the Arkham game series but the possibility of it continuing was actually quite a surprise that nobody thought would happen. That is why it was a relief when the official PlayStation Blog has shared about an interview with Ames Kirshen, vice president of product development for the Arkham and DC Comics games, in which it was implied that it wasn't the last Batman game.
"Batman is one of the cornerstone IPs for Warner Bros. With the Arkham series, we were finally able to realise the full potential of the character," he said in the interview. "We don't have anything to talk about at this time, but the possibilities are endless with a character as dynamic and beloved as Batman."
According to Metro, Kirshen had also given hints about other games featuring different DC characters, and certainly Arkham Knight has just been full of surprises referencing to other superheroues, particularly Justice League members like Superman and The Flash.
"When choosing what DC Entertainment IP we might focus on for any game, it boils down to honing in on the IPs that map the strongest, genre-wise, to what fans are interested in seeing and playing," he further said. "From there, it's about getting the development studios with the strongest passion for those IPs to make the games"
There is also a word that the next game after Arkham Knight is a Justice League title, and this too will most likely be developed by Rocksteady Studios, the same group that developed Batman: Arkham Knight. On the other hand, there are also rumors that Warner Bros. Games Montréal, who made Batman: Arkham Origins is now working on a Suicide Squad Game.
There are no confirmation yet coming from either game developers, but there are those who are hopeful for Warner Bros. to announce something by the time its upcoming Superman VS Batman movie is released in theaters in 2017.
