A horrifying incident took place on October 1st at Umpqua Community College, located in Rosenburg Oregon. As of the latest Oregon College shootout update, 13 people are killed and 20 are injured after a gunman openfired in a classroom while the students were having their writing class.
Daily News then reported that some witnesses stated that the gunman would first ask them what their religion is, then he would shoot them basing on their answer. A post from @BodhiLooney stated that:
"The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were Christian. If they said yes, then they were shot in the head. If they said no, or didn't answer, they were shot in the legs."
Several reports have already emerged in regards to the incident, the motives however were unclear. The website then reported that the killer might have revealed his motives online as screenshot of the post cited several hints in regards to the shootout which was posted on 4chan.
The post stated: "Some of you guys are alright. Don't go to school tomorrow if you are in the northwest," one post reads. It continued to say, "happening thread will be posted tomorrow morning...so long space robots."
Another user then added: "Personally I will mark this day's celebration of our Hero's deeds by announcing that I have an elaborate plan...Needless to say; it shall be glorious. The horrible kind of normies will pay for their misdeeds, and the world will be bettered."
As per CBC, President Barack Obama then shared his sentiments in regards to the Oregon College shootout stating that somethings need to be done in regards to the frequent shootouts: "But as I have said before, our thoughts and prayers are not enough,"
The United States "is the only country on Earth that sees these kind of mass shootings every few months, somehow this has become routine."
"It does not capture the heartache and grief and anger we should feel," he said while calling the day's events a "routine" tragedy which is seen "every so many months."
"This is a political choice that we make to allow this to happen every few months in America. It's fair to say that anybody who does this has a sickness in their mind, regardless of what they think their motivations may be. But we are not the only country on earth that has people with mental illness or who want to do harm to other people."
