Dominick Dunne’s Former Summer Residence Asking for $1.4 Million

The late author, Dominick Dunne's former summer home in Connecticut has hit the listing market with an asking price of $1.4 million. The current owners of the home purchased it in 2009, not long after Dunne's demise, for around $925,000.

According to Curbed, after the current owners purchased the home, they added a modern kitchen, replaced the windows and redid the interiors while still retaining its elegance. Most of the Dunne-furniture was auctioned off then.

The home is totally renovated and is now clad in white and beige with a touch of ochre and a hint of pea green. Surrounded by stretching greens, the home now sports an elegant countryside vibe and has contemporary interiors.

Built in 1961, the single-family residence of 3400 square feet sits on a 5.60 acres lot. A white fence surrounds the estate. A stone driveway leads up to the two-story home that has a large open porch.

The home has hardwood flooring, detailed paneling and custom-built doors and windows. The place includes a formal dining room, a family room, a steam room, a recreation room, a deck and an attic. The residence offers beautiful views of the Whalebone Cove and the ocean as well.

The residence also has a detached guest house and two covered parking spaces.
