Academy Award winning actress Tilda Swinton has picked up an interesting hobby - sleeping at New York City's Museum of Modern Art as part of an artistic performance.
The exhibit, titled "The Maybe," is an eight-hour still life piece that Swinton created back in 1995 and since performed in museums in London and Rome. According to reports, Swinton slept on a bed inside a glass box, which features nothing more than a jug of water for eight hours.
There is no published schedule for the piece, but the actress plans to do this an additional six times until the end of the year.
Swinton first performed the piece at the Serpentine Gallery in London in 1995. In 1996, she performed it in the Museo Barracco in Rome.
"An integral part of The Maybe's incarnation at MoMA in 2013 is that there is no published schedule for its appearance, no artist's statement released, no museum statement beyond this brief context, no public profile or image issued," officials said in a statement. "Those who find it chance upon it for themselves, live and in real - shared - time: now we see it, now we don't."
Tilda Swinton won an Oscar in 2008 for best supporting actress for her role in "Michael Clayton." Her recent works include "Moonrise Kingdom" will Bill Murray and Bruce Willis, and "We Need to Talk About Kevin" in which she stars as a mother to a violent and troubled son.
