Former Pittsburgh Steelers standout Kordell Stewart has filed for divorce from his reality television star wife Porsha Williams.
According to TMZ, the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback filed for divorce on March 22. In the document, Stewart claims that the marriage is "irretrievably broken," though he does not specify exactly why.
Stewart says his marriage to Porsha Williams is "irretrievably broken" and the two are separated. The pair appears on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." The couple got married in May of 2011.
Stewart asks the court to find there are no marital assets to divide. He says Williams is ''an able-bodied person, earning income, and is capable of supporting herself.'' He asks that neither side be ordered to pay alimony, according to the Associated Press.
Reports suggest that some of Williams' co-stars may have played a part in her divorce from Kordell Stewart as well. According to Vibe.com, several of the other Atlanta housewives have accused the former quarterback of being controlling.
"I watch the show just like you do, so based off everything I've seen and heard myself, it appears that Kordell is talking to his daughter and not his wife!" wrote Williams' co-star, NeNe Leakes, in her BravoTV.com blog. "Porsha can't seem to do much without getting permission from Kordell. This is not my relationship, so if Porsha likes it, I love it, and I really don't give a sh** what Porsha and Kordell do! I'm entitled to my opinion!"
