‘The Good Wife’ Season 7 Cast, Premiere & Spoilers: What’s In Store for the New Season

"The Good Wife" is back on the small screen for its seventh season. The first episode airs tonight, Oct. 4, at 9 p.m. on CBS.

So what's in store for Season 7? To start off, according to E! News, Alicia Florrick will have a new job and new relationships. Julianna Margulies, who plays the role of Alicia, told E! News, "Alicia's starting from scratch again and she's always best when she's at the bottom of the barrel."

Creators Robert and Michelle King shared to Entertainment Weekly that one of the focus themes in Season 7 is how Alicia rebuilds her family and revive her career. "A lot of it is [about] how do you then remake this kind of family-like relationship that is a combination of work and home," Robert told EW.

Alicia's alcoholism will also be a topic in Season 7. Alicia is said to have graduated from her wine addiction to making "little margaritas" for herself. Michelle said though that it's not the prelude to a 12-step program.

Michelle and Robert also confirmed that even though Alicia is working on her own, she will have some interactions with the people from her old law firm, including Diane (Christine Baranski) and Cary (Matt Czuchry).

"The Good Wife" Season 7 will also introduce several new faces to shake things up in the show. Cush Jumbo joins the cast as Lucca Quinn, a lawyer that Alicia will meet when she started working in bond court to help arrestees seeking bail.

Jane Curtin will appear as a guest star, playing the role of Judge Farley. "The Americans" star Margo Martindale was cast as Ruth Eastman that will help Alicia's husband Peter (Chris Noth) in his presidential campaign. Bridget Regan and Christopher McDonald are also set to guest star. Other familiar faces that are returning include Mackenzie Vega (Grace Florrick), Jerry Adler (Howard Lyman) and Michael J. Fox (Louis Canning).
