‘Castle’ Season 8 Spoiler: Bosses Explain Season 8 Split; "Nobody’s Getting Divorced"

ABC's 'Castle' Season 8 kicked off by delivering a game-changer at the end of the premiere entitled "XY.'' Castle (Nathan Fillion) knew that the past of his wife, Becket (Stana Katic), would eventually catch up to her. But the private investigator didn't expect that Becket would need to take a breather from their marriage to face the demons.

According to Hollywood Reporter, when Becket revealed she needed some space from Castle to take on the issues from her past, the show changed dramatically. What does this mean? Is there going to be a divorce? The Hollywood Reporter spoke with the showrunners to find out what is exactly in store in the coming weeks.

The showrunners are trying to shake things up, but at the same time what they get into starting Monday night is back to the show, being as the stand-alone episodes, and a sense of hope and fun.

Kate Becket (Stana Katic) is being chased by childhood demons. While she really can run and avoid them, she can't hide from her past in Castle's season-eight opener, "XY.''

At the start of Monday's hour, there will be good changes coming underway. Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) are celebrating Beckett's big promotion and Castle is happily amazed to find out that Alexis (Molly Quinn) has not only remodeled his office, but also successfully taken on some cases of her own. However, things suddenly turn dark when Beckett goes missing.

Hollywood Reporter also added that the absence of Becket was quickly noticed by the rest of the team including Castle, Esposito (Jon Huertas), and Ryan (Seamus Dever). Their search brings them to security specialist Hayley Shipman (Toks Olagundoye), who luckily turns to be a friend rather than a foe.

Is the part two of the season-eight premiere the last season of Beckett? The Hollywood Reporter got some answers from showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley about what's in store for season eight.
