“Prometheus 2” Movie News: Director 'Ridley Scott' Says Filming Will Begin January 2016 in Australia

The production team for "Prometheus 2" is rumored to be getting ready to start filming in January 2016.

Alien and Prometheus director Ridley Scott is said to have made a big revelation in his interview with Total Film magazine. According to Scified, a forum member was generous enough to share a scan of the page from the magazine, in which it was written that filming will begin in January of next year. Also written in large font was what Scott has said, "I've got back into the sci-fi thing, I kind of adore it."

According to IGN, Scott is producing both Prometheus 2 and Alien 5 and the latter reportedly will be directed by District 9's Neill Blomkamp. The first Prometheus was said to be a prequel to Ridley Scott's Alien movie, so the story of "Alien 5" is said to take place after "Prometheus 2". Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are assumed to reprised their roles as android David and scientist Elizabeth Shaw in the upcoming sequel.

According to Scified, "Prometheus 2" will not be affected by "Alien 5", which reportedly is also in production. Moreover, Scott is making sure that plot details will not contradict.

In another news ,Scott is said to have confirmed that he wants to shoot Prometheus 2 in Australia. According to news.com.au, Scott said during and interview, "I'm trying to get into the big Sydney studio there for Prometheus 2."

"We're doing that ... well, I'm kicking off now actually."

"We're literally starting prep now and we've got to land somewhere very shortly because my team have to get themselves over there and get all their team together.

"The pyramid of personnel on a film like this could be anywhere from 400 to 600 people, so you've got to get going - you've got to move."

"Prometheus 2" is rumored to be released in May 2017. Will the sci-fi sequel be a hit?
