"Thor: Ragnarok" is rumored to start filming anytime in the near future. While it has been announced that Chris Hemsworth is reprising his role as Thor the Norse god of thunder, Taika Waititi, who reportedly co-directed the vampire parody "What We Do In the Shadows" is said to be negotiating with the producers to direct the third Thor movie titled Thor: Ragnarok. According to The Hollywood Reporter, aside from Waititi, the other directors vying for the position are Ruben Fleischer, Rob Letterman and Rawson Marshall Thurber.
While the people behind "Thor: Ragnarok" are still trying to nit pick the best person to direct the film, there are some rumors swirling about the upcoming movie. According to Whatculture.com, there will be no Jane Foster in "Thor: Ragnarok" because it appears that the third movie will have less focus on Earth since Thor has already left in the previous Thor movie plots.
There will be new faces in "Thor: Ragnarok," as it has been speculated that "Beta Ray" might join the cast. He seemed to have suspiciously appeared for a split second in the "Age of Ultron" telling Thor about the future in a dream. Moreover, LL Cool J is rumored to appear in the sequel because of his old tweet, "I'm so ready for this role in Marvel movie." Also, Thanos is also likely to appear. According to Whatculture.com, it is impossible for the Ragnarok story line to go on without the Mad Titan in it.
On the other hand, there is a rumor that might be depressing for the fans of Tom Hiddleston. The rumor that Loki will not be in "Thor: Ragnarok" is making rounds. According to Whatculture.com, this rumor came from the last time Hiddleston was asked about his character. In response he said, "I never quite know whether people want to see him again or whether people want to move on... I can't really take the temperature on it. It's so difficult, because IF it did happen again, I would try not to repeat myself. I would try to do something new."
Those rumors have yet to be confirmed and it is expected that more will be surfacing as time goes by. In the meantime, it is said that "Thor: Ragnarok" will be released in November of 2017.
