Matthew McConaughey got a new balding and "dad bod" look but don't fret about it because he is just doing this for his new movie role. According to E! Online, we have to say goodbye for now to McConaughey's beach body because he has exchanged it for some beer belly as he take scenes in New York City for his upcoming movie entitled, "Gold."
According to PEOPLE, the Oscar-winner looked unrecognizable in costume while filming in New York. He was seen wearing a gray suit and a printed tropical theme tie. To complete his look he was also holding a briefcase and a cigarette. But his major transformation was completed with his balding hair and the very obvious "dad bod."
His upcoming movie "Gold" is about Kenny Wells who happened to be a struggling businessman, trying to get back on his feet. But due to his financial situation he ended up in the deep jungles of Indonesia in search for gold.
Stephen Gaghan is directing the movie while Matthew's character will be working with Venezuelan actor, Edgar Ramirez's luckless geologist as they search for gold in the heart of Indonesia's jungle. The movie is produced by Black Bear Pictures and will be distributed by TWC-Dimension.
E! Online shared that the "Magic Mike" star is not afraid of a body transformation just to make his character appear more suitable to the movie role. As remembered he even lost 40 pounds when he played the role of an HIV-positive man in the movie "Dallas Buyers Club." His new look for the said movie paid-off as he was able to win his first ever Oscar award.
McConaughey said, "For me, I go whatever the role that I'm playing need." He added, "So if I'm doing an action movie or a football player, I go to the gym and hit weights."
He added, "I haven't done anything like that in years so I haven't really picked up a weight in four years."
"Gold" will hit the theatres in 2016.
