'Microsoft' 'Xbox' News: Pro Control 'Xbox Elite' Re-mapping Feature Also for Xbox One Gamepads

It can be remembered that in previous months Microsoft revealed a new piece of hardware during the Microsoft's press conference-- a pro Xbox controller, 'Xbox Elite', was previously unveiled by the tech giant. It is well anticipated by most gamers because of its functionality and wide range of tweaks and options, which include remapping of buttons.

With the inclusion of button remapping, Xbox gamers are excited to purchase the said Xbox controller despite having a price tag of $150. However, just most recently, Microsoft seems to have heard the clamor of some gaming enthusiasts, for they are allowing remappable controls not just on the Xbox Elite controller but also with the Xbox One gamepads.

The idea of button remapping came with the introduction of PlayStation 4's 2.50 firmware update. And with that, Microsoft Xbox software update would likewise give users a freedom to reassign buttons on their controller to their liking. Such update and remapping availability would include swapping around the placement buttons, like the A and B buttons.

For a not so hard-core gamer, this feature or update may not be significant at all. However, for a pro-gamer this button remapping would be of a great advantage especially in complementing players' muscular memory. This move of Microsoft would surely give pro-gamers a leg-up on certain competitions which requires various button combinations. On a more humanitarian perspective, allowing button remapping on Xbox Elite and Xbox One controllers would also give persons with disabilities more room for convenience and enjoyment.

Now that button remapping for Xbox One controller is official, more and more players are gunning for the updates release. Though remapping feature is not yet confirmed for all Xbox Controllers, still the new Xbox One experience would start this November. The remapping update is accompanied by the introduction of the Xbox 360 backwards compatibility feature, which is part of the overhaul of the frustrating Xbox One user interface.
