The childhood home in Brooklyn, New York of rap legend Notorious B.I.G. is up for sale with an asking price of $725,000, according to reports.
The late rapper, Christopher Wallace, lived in this Brooklyn apartment 3L on 226 St. James Place as a young boy. The home offers three bedrooms and one bathroom. It is currently owned by an elderly couple and the asking price is up $300,000 from the published sale figures nine years ago. The area was formerly known as Bedford-Stuyvesant, as New York magazine reports.
"The tour buses that come by regularly are enough," listing agent Judith Leif told The Daily Intelligencer. "I don't really know yet what impact, if any, [The Notorious B.I.G's connection] will have on the sale. I think it'll be notable, but I don't know if novelty translates to a purchase."
Lief said that "very lovable people" own the place and she wouldn't want its past to affect its future. "The tour buses that come by regularly are enough," she said. "I don't really know yet what impact, if any, [Biggie's looming presence] will have on the sale. I think it'll be notable, but I don't know if novelty translates to a purchase."
