"Fifty Shades Darker" star Dakota Johnson recently celebrated her 26th birthday, and Fashion N Style released a few information that fans might not know about her.
According to the publication, Johnson previously entered rehab for substance abuse after she was bullied in school and became overly stressed because of it. During a previous interview, the actress said that a lot of her schoolmates bullied her because of the problems her parents had at that time. Since both of her parents were famous celebrities, Johnson was judged by her peers.
At the age of 17, Johnson reportedly could no longer manage all the stress brought about by bullying in school that she resorted to using drugs. She eventually entered rehab and went out after she got better.
Meanwhile, the publication also revealed that nine years ago, Johnson was tapped to play the role of Miss Golden Globe during the Golden Globe Awards in 2006. Usually, the person who is tapped to hand out the awards is the son or daughter of famous celebrities. After Johnson was spotted on stage, IMG Models approached her and immediately signed her to their agency.
In other news, Johnson also starred in the short-lived show "Ben & Kate" on FOX. The actress replaced Abby Elliott for the role. Johnson appeared on the sitcom for 16 episodes before the network decided to cancel it for good.
Two years later, Johnson starred in the BDSM trilogy written by E.L. James, where she played the role of Anastasia Steele. In "Fifty Shades of Grey," Johnson gave life to the character of an innocent, almost naïve young woman who became drawn to her boss, according to InStyle.
Johnson will reprise her role in the upcoming movie "Fifty Shades Darker" alongside he co-star Jamie Dornan, who play the role of Christian Grey.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
