‘McDonalds’: All-Day Breakfast Leaps High on Social Media

Social media users were too thrilled about McDonalds' move to offer breakfast menu all day long. A number of tweets and photos have been circulating around social media about the launch of the all-day breakfast campaign.

A total of 52,700 tweets were sent in 24-hour period, which is 133 percent of the usual mentions of the fastfood restaurant.

All-Day Breakfast is the latest campaign of the biggest fastfood chain wherein the usual 10:30 AM cutoff for breakfast meal is removed at majority of its locations worldwide. Breakfast menu includes McCafé drinks, McMuffins (sausage and/or egg) and/or biscuit sandwiches (bacon, egg and cheese, and/or sausage), sausage burritos, hash browns, hotcakes, oatmeal, and yogurt parfaits.

The Big Mac is usually the most-mentioned menu item on Twitter, but it came third on Tuesday next to McMuffin and McGriddle. McMuffin mentions were sevenfold while McGriddle were sixfold. It seems that netizens are frustrated on the fact that McGriddle is not included in the breakfast menu that will be served all day long.

The All-Day Breakfast campaign is a comeback after the chain rebranded its Dollar menu into "Dollar Menu and More." The average price for the breakfast menu is around $2.71.

@OnlyInBOS posted a photo of his recent purchase of the breakfast menu items on Twitter and said, "It's 11pm & I just ordered a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit & fries. My life is complete...#AllDayBreakfast"

However, @RanealTheFakest posted his McGriddle frustrations on Twitter, "What TF was the point of #AllDayBreakfast if the McGriddle isn't on the Menu."

The All-Day Breakfast may have taken the social media by storm, but McDonalds would have to make sure to maintain the enthusiasm and passion of its customers to be able to make the campaign a massive success.

Have you tried the breakfast menu yesterday? How about last night?
