The Facebook House, Some Real Features

Given that we are all addicted to Facebook and it might as well be called our virtual dwelling, the idea of 'how a home would actually look like, if they (Facebook) suddenly decide to design one' crept into the minds of the folks at " Joy of Tech" - a webcomic.

To begin with, the foundation would probably be built with materials "borrowed" from builders, especially "The Winklevoss Bros." Built on top of "Android", the home would be a mediocre construction by "HTC" contractors!

Moving into the interiors, the place would be "one large Hacker's home" with stairs built "backwards" so that a person can never leave. Walls would be transparent so neighbours could have a clear peek at whatever is "going on" and "Facebook timelines" would be on every wall. The dining-room area would have lights fitted with "instagram" cameras so you could post all your meals. Also, the bathrooms would have multiple toilets in order to encourage people to "post" loads of "crap".

The backdoor would always remain open so the folks at Facebook could always drop in and see how you were doing. The crawlspace would be filled with comment trolls while underground tunnels would link your house to your neighbours' homes. The attic would be filled with sneaky app developers and the rooftop would have QR Codes, leased to sponsoring advertisers!

On a much realistic note, Facebook just launched "Facebook Home"- an android launcher that will transform your Smartphone into a social-media phone. The launch of the new mega-app is the social media giant's way of diversifying, and if the company ever runs out of ideas, they could definitely pick some up from "Joy of Tech".

The Webcomic is created by Nitrozac and Snaggy, who are Liza Schmalcel and Bruce Evans in the real world. The comics are published three times a week and are focused on tech-oriented humor.

People are delighted by the idea of the Facebook house. Some are eagerly waiting for a "Facebook Car". Maybe that will have a "Google-glass-inspired" windshield that has constant "news feed" appearing on it!

For now, Facebook is gearing up to move its headquarters to the Menlo Park City in California. It recently won approval of the city's council to proceed with construction.
