"New Girl" Season 5 will air early next year, and fans are wondering what will happen to the show now that Zooey Deschanel wouldn't be around. Just recently, it was confirmed that Megan Fox will temporarily take Deschanel's place while the latter's still on maternity leave.
Fox will play the role of a smart pharmaceutical sales representative who will be renting out Jess' flat. Since she's smart and pretty, Nick, Schmidt and the rest of the gang will be drawn to her, according to Deadline.
Meanwhile, fans can't help but notice a resemblance between "New Girl" Season 5 and "Baby Daddy" Season 5. The ABC Family series focuses on two brothers and a girl that they both have feelings for.
According to Crossmap, "Baby Daddy" fans will now see Allie Gonino as part of its cast. "The Lying Game" alum will play the role of Sam, Ben's newest love interest.
In Season 4, Ben gave way so that his brother Danny could be with Riley officially. Now fans believe that a crossover between the two shows would be helpful not only in boosting rating but also in giving fans an exciting storyline.
Fans are speculating on what could happen if Ben ends up meeting Fox's character. It's also reportedly possible for Deschanel to pose a threat to Riley on the ABC Family series.
On the other hand, the possibility for a crossover is said to be impossible because "New Girl" and "Baby Daddy" air on different networks. Additionally, both shows are getting good enough ratings, which is why they have lasted for five seasons.
"New Girl" Season 5 also stars Jake Johnson, Hanna Simone and Max Greenfield. "Baby Daddy" Season 5 stars Chelsea Kane, Derek Theler, Tahj Mowry and Melissa Peterman.
"Baby Daddy" Season 5 will premiere on ABC Family sometime in June 2016, while "New Girl" will premiere on FOX sometime in January 2016.
