'Dancing With The Stars' Season 21 Recap: Gary Busey Got Eliminated

On the latest episode of "Dancing With The Stars" Season 21, Episode 4 which was shown last Monday, Oct. 5, an elimination took place after the fourth week of performances. The performances featured songs that were memorable for the contestants.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Monday's episode as per synopsis by ABC, "each celebrity will set out to leave a lasting impression with their dances as they commemorate their most memorable year on "Dancing with the Stars." The couples danced to a song that the celebrity contestants chose. That song played a significant role and encompassed memorable times in their lives.

Channel Guide Magazine reported that former DWTS champion and "America's Funniest Videos" host Alfonso Ribeiro temporarily replaced Tom Bergeron this week. Tom is on leave to spend time with family.

So here is the recap of Monday's memorable performances:

Alexa Pena Vega and Mark Ballas - Alexa's most memorable year was way back in 2000 when she was part of "Spy Kids." She chose "Mama Said" by The Shirelles because every time that song is played, her mom makes sure it is on full blast. She danced Foxtrot and got a score of 21/30.

There were mistakes, however, which the judges have taken note. Nonetheless, they still loved their energy. Julianne said, "It was very fun and entertaining, I loved loved the energy." Carrie Ann agreed, "You brought the strength of last week, but you made it so elegant and so light and so fun." Meanwhile, Bruno shared some tips that "In ballroom, you got to lift from the waist - and then you maintain your frame, it will help you on the quickstep."

Gary Busey and Anna Trebunskay - Gary's memorable year was in 1979, the year that he got his Academy Award Nomination for the movie "The Buddy Holly Story." He did a jazz dance to the song "That'll Be the Day" and got the score of 16/30.

The judges think that they still need a room for improvement considering it is already the fourth week. Carrie Ann said, "I just feel so bad. It's week 4 and I am looking for improvement." While Bruno encouraged them to keep the passion going but they have to nail the precision. As for Julianne, she sees their persistence to come rise again and give a better performance and she said, "Anna you did a good job. At the end of the day, you entertain!"

Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy - Tamar's most memorable year was 2012 when she almost lost her husband Vince, because of blood clots in the lungs. After he recovered they've decided to have a baby. She danced rumba with her new song "King" and got the score of 27/30.

It was a touching and deep performance as what the judges have noticed. Carrie Ann said, "Your story touched me deeply; but your dance touched me more deeply." Bruno appreciates the deep connection that was shown which he said "was wired to perfection." While Julianne saw how beautiful Tamar was for the night but she said, "I have not given you a 9 yet and I think it is because you have been like an 8 - but not quite a 9."

Hayes Grier and Emma Slater - 2014 was Hayes' most memorable year when he became an Internet superstar. He danced a Contemporary to "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes and got the score of 27/30.

The judges think that it was indeed a breakthrough performance. Julianne said, "I am so shocked right now, completely shocked. You have completely broken out of that shell you have been living in." Bruno agreed to Julianne and said, "You didn't miss a beat, you went right on it on a way that is completely unexpected." Carrie Ann loved the fact that their performance showed how they understood every move. She said, "you finally understood the nuisances of every single move. You lifted Emma so beautifully."

Alek Skarlatos & Lindsay Arnold - 2015 is Alek's memorable year. His life changed from being a soldier in Afghanistan to becoming a hero. He chose to dance Paso Doble to "Wake Me Up" and was given the score of 24/30.

The judges thought that their dance was not that expressive but still commended them for a job well done. Carrie Ann said, "I thought it was strong and sturdy, just the way you have always been." While Bruno acknowledged how hard it was to perform with such emotions and he said, "you did it very, very well." Julianne appreciated the deep connection that he had with Lindsay but still encouraged for more. She said, "Dance is an expression, it's an art. When you are frustrated and you are angry - let us see that."

Nick Carter & Sharna Burgess - As for Nick, 1992 was his memorable year. That was the time when he joined "Backstreet Boys." It has been said that being part of the band saved him. Nick danced a jazz number to "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" and got a 27/30 score.

The judges were all high praises for Nick's performance. Julianne just kept her comment short by saying, "Hot! Hot ! Hot!" Bruno agreed to that and said, "This is what I call a superstar mega hit!" As for Carrie Ann, she acknowledged that Nick was already good when he was part of the Backstreet Boys but have gone so far already since then. She said, "This ballroom dancing has turned you in to a beast!"

Carlos PenaVega & Witney Carson - 2012 was memorable for Carlos because at the height of his popularity he turned to drugs, and that changed his life. He chose to dance waltz to "Amazing Grace" and got a score of 26/30.

Judges find his dance beautiful yet there are still mistakes that should be addressed accordingly. Julianne thanked them for a beautiful performance but also said that, "you are kind of in the middle of the pack - the only way you can work on getting back is by working on your shoulders and opening up that chest." Bruno was mesmerized with their performance but still noticed some errors and said "There was a little incident in the end where you almost lost it. You can't hench forward and hold." Meanwhile, Carrie Ann just loved how he performed and said, "Tonight, you danced from your soul! That was mind-blowing, I am so happy for you!"

Paula Deen & Louis van Amstel - 1989 was memorable for Paula because that was the time she ended her unhappy marriage and opened her own business. She danced Cha Cha to "Respect" By Aretha Franklin and got an 18/30 score.

The judges think that her dance was good but she needs to loosen up and to go for it. Julianne encouraged her that she can do this and said, "Just say to yourself every day 'I am awesome! I am fierce!" While Bruno added to that and said, "You can do it, campt it up even more, have more fun, and go for it." And Carrie Ann reminded her not to lose focus and said, "You gotta keep going when you make a mistake girl."

Andy Grammer & Allison Holker - Andy's memorable year was 2009 when his mother passed away. He danced Cha Cha to "Good to be Alive" and got a score of 23/30.

There was a mixed reactions from the judges. Carrie Ann said, "tonight I thought there was an awkward to you - you have to watch your elbows more. I don't feel like it is all working together." While Julianne disagreed and said, "I think this is the most comfortable we have saw you since week one!" At the same time Bruno thinks that Carrie Ann was just being cranky and said, "I actually thought the message was loud and clear - and that worked for you."

Bindi Irwin & Derek Hough - As for Bindi, 2006 was memorable because that was the time she lost her father, Steve Irwin. She danced a Contemporary to "Every Breath You Take" and was given a 28/30 score.

The judges were blown away by Bindi's heartfelt performance. Julianne said, "Okay, I probably am not the only one here that got their breath took away. That dance was breathtaking." And Bruno was in all praise and said, "Baby, he was dancing with you every step of the way. He is proud of you, and the world is proud of you." While Carrie Ann just simply loved the passion that was seen in her dance and said, "It is such an honor to see someone dance with such beauty and passion. Well done."

As for week 4 elimination, Carlos Pena Vega and Witney Carson were the first couple in jeopardy and then they were joined by Gary Busey and Anna Trebunskay. After the judges and America's votes were tallied Gary and Anna were officially eliminated.
