Last Monday, "Dancing With The Stars" theme was "Most Memorable Year." Each celebrity chose a song that signifies the most memorable year in their lives. Bindi Irwin's performance was indeed amazing and heartfelt.
According to TODAY, Bindi received the first perfect 10 of the season on "Dancing With The Stars." As for Bindi, her most memorable year was 2006 when she lost her father "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin.
Bindi and her partner Derek Hough performed a cover of "Every Breath You Take" by The Police in honor of her father Steve.
PEOPLE reported that in a pre-recorded segment of "Dancing With The Stars" Bindi shared about losing her dad. Bindi said, "What shaped me the most would probably be when my dad passed away. It's been nine years and I've never really dwelled on that point." She also added, "I think I'm ready to tell that story."
During their rehearsal, Bindi was in tears when Derek grabbed her finger as she remember the memory of learning how to walk with her dad. She said, "It took a really long time to understand what actually happened." She added, "For the rest of my life, I'll kind of feel like he's going to come home."
TODAY revealed that Bindi broke down several times during rehearsals. But on the performance night she was able to hold her tears until she finished the heartfelt dance. However, you can see the audience were the ones in tears as they watched Bindi's dance.
Bindi's performance earned her a score of 28 out of 30 which happened to be the highest score of the night. As a matter of fact, it was the first 10 of the season as per judge, Bruno Tinoli. Bruno told Bindi of her father, "He was dancing with you every step of the way."
Bindi then told PEOPLE after the show that, "Tonight, it was just all about remembering the fact that dad is always with me, and I carry him in my heart."
