Playboy Bunny Hutch Mansion Listed for $11 Million

The Playboy Bunny Hutch in Los Angeles is up for sale. This is the residence down the lane from the iconic Playboy Mansion where all the bunnies apparently are housed. The manse has hit the market with an asking price of $11 million. The mansion gained much popularity in the 1970s due to Hugh Hefner's lavish parties at the venue.

According to the Real Estalker, this Playboy mansion was purchased by another corporate entity in 2001. However, it is not clearly known if Hefner still owns the house. Anyhow, the sheer notoriety of the mansion makes it an eye-popping listing.

According to the Real Estalker, the mansion is a classic 1950's ranch style residence, spread across an area of 6690 square feet. Located in the Holmby Hills area, the double story home sits on a 1.3 acre land. The residence comprises of five bedrooms, six full and one half bathroom and numerous living and dining rooms.

The mansion includes a separate game house which contains modern and vintage arcade games. Other features of the mansion include a wine cellar, an aviary, a sauna, a grotto and a bathhouse. Outside the home has large sidewalks, a wishing-well, a fountain, a shapely swimming pool and a parking lot.

The original Playboy Mansion was located in Chicago. Hefner purchased the home in 1959. He kept moving from the Chicago home to the Playboy Mansion West from time to time. In 1974, he permanently shifted base to the Los Angeles mansion and donated the Chicago place to the Art Institute of Chicago, reports Chicago Now.

The Chicago mansion was later converted into seven condominiums, two of which sold for $5.2 million and $2.3 million (list price) in 2012, respectively. One of the residences was described as:

"This elegantly appointed residence at The Playboy Mansion has been redone with the highest level of finishes. Kitchen has custom Grabill cabinetry, subzero refrigerator, full size wine refrigerator & butlers' pantry/bar area. Large patio off kitchen & family room is perfect for entertaining/dogs. 3rd bedroom is currently a richly paneled library. 2 garage spaces."
