Los Angeles Lakers Legend James Worthy puts his Mediterranean-inspired home in the market for $2.195 million. According to Los Angeles Times, Worthy owns the property in the Westside which he was able to buy for $945,000 way back 1997, as shown in property records.
This is a two-story home in the gated community of Bel-Air Crest. The Mediterranean-style home was built in 1990. This is less than 4,000 square feet with cathedral-style ceilings, wood and tile floors. There are also fireplaces in the living and family rooms.
Its interiors includes a spacious kitchen, a formal dining room, a wet bar and a gaming/media room. There are four bedroom and 3.5 bathrooms. One of the bathrooms features a luxurious walk-in closet and a large jetted tub.
New owners of Worthy's house will be able to enjoy the free access to the community pool, clubhouse, tennis and basketball courts, and of course, the spa.
According to Realtor.com, Worthy just signed on to help coach the LA Lakers. He is a seven-time NBA All-Star dubbed "Big Game James" who snagged three NBA championships and was the number one draft pick in 1982 for the Lakers."
NBA.com reported that the General Manager of Lakers, Mitch Kupchak announced that he has been hired by the team to work with the coaching staff. Worthy will be working with head coach Byron Scott and his staff. He will be focusing his attention on working with the Lakers big men.
Worthy will be accompanying the team in their training camp in Hawaii and will continue to work with the players the entire season. Kupchak said that, "James was one of the best forwards to ever play the game." He added, "We feel he will be a valuable addition to the coaching staff and will do an excellent job teaching our group of big men. We are pleased and fortunate to welcome him back to the organization."
In 2003, James was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
