"Rick and Morty" season two's finale finds Rick and his family attending the wedding of Birdperson and Tammy.
"Rick and Morty" season two has come to an end with the final episode called "The Wedding Squanchers." The show's exit for its second season will have a familiar feel as it brings back many of Rick's friends that were part of the 10-episode fun and adventurous season. Fans of the series will recall that it was also this way for the last episode of the first season. And according to IGN, it is where the similarity stops as the episode took on a life of its own. It became recklessly unpredictable and crazy but "Rick and Morty" is at its best form when things get out of hand, story-wise.
Birdperson and Tammy show up again and this time they get married. Rick and his family is invited of course which is the main premise of the episode. Rick shows that he is uncomfortable with the Federation but all throughout the wedding ceremony and reception, he handles himself well enough.
Beth and Jerry join Rick at the alien wedding which is a rare occasion in itself to see the couple go on an adventure beyond the usual. Jerry tries to be himself and miserably fails in his attempt to fit in with the crowd.
But in true "Rick and Morty" fashion, the episode will not be complete without turning into a wild and bizarre corner. It turns out that Tammy is planning to betray Birdperson and a shootout ensues. Squanchy sacrifices his life for Rick and the Smith family is forced to escape and look for a new home.
Rick decides to turn himself in to the Federation and the Earth becomes a part of their territory. The Smiths have nowhere to go, at least in their own planet. And Rick's fate is unknown until the start of season three.
