Crunchyroll, Inc. will simulcast the anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans," which will premiere on Oct. 11 at 1:30 a.m. Pacific Time on Crunchyroll and will be aired every Sunday.
The famous Mobile Suit Gundam is directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and is written by Mari Okada. Both also worked together in past Mobile Suit Gundam series like the "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day and Toradora!"
The story of the anime occurred after the great war between Earth and Mars, more than 300 years ago. In the said "Calamity War," Mars was successfully terraformed and colonized by humans, with advanced technologies but humans of Mars want to be free from the Earth's government, Anime News Network reported.
The star of the story is Mikazuki Angus who is part of a group of children working at the Chryse Guard Security (CGS), a civilian security company. CGS is responsible for the safety of the Kudelia Aina Bernstein, who seeks for the freedom of the Martian City of Chryse. A day came when the CGS was attacked by Gjallarhorn against Martian independence, and Mikazuki was caught in a hard situation. He needed to choose whether to follow his friend who is a rebel against the CGS, or continue and be loyal with his mission as he discovered the legendary mobile suit, the Gundam Barbatos.
Like other Gundam series, it would focus on character drama with escalating warfare, as well as plenty of politics and factions fighting with each other with mobile suits for territory that may result in character deaths.
The series will begin in a violent scenario with a glimpse into the past of the two main leads, Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka. Rivalry and competition is seen in the barren planet where humans live with a brutal environment. Deep conflicts will be seen in the series that is set at a "gritty terraformed Mars," Fandom Post reported. It also added that this is "a promising start to a new Gundam series."
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" will be available to Crunchyroll members from United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa with a total of 25 episodes. Said anime series was acquired by the leading global destination and platform for Japanese anime and Asian content.
