‘Super Meat Boy’ Game News: Developer Team Meat Teases Wii U Release

On Thursday, game developer Team Meat has teased fans of "Super Meat Boy" and hinted that the video game will be released on Wii U in the future. The news comes after Team Meat co-founder Tommy Refenes has posted a message in the company's official blog, a report from Gamespot said.

In the game's official website, Refenes has expressed his gratitude to all of the people involved in the success of releasing "Super Meat Boy" on PlayStation consoles via PlayStation Plus. He also thanked the fans who patiently waited for the game's release. He then hinted to Wii U fans that the game will be available in the future.

"And finally, to all the fans: Thank you for being patient. As a developer, the ultimate goal is to get people to play and love your work. Sometimes, it's not possible to deliver your work to everyone due to decisions you had to make in order to complete your work. I'm so glad that PlayStation fans everywhere now have the ability to play a game that's very near and dear to my heart," Refenes said.

"To the fan's we're still excluding I'll leave you with this: Wii haven't forgotten about U."

Gamespot reports that "Super Meat Boy" was introduced to the gaming public as in indie platformer for Xbox 360 in 2010. It was said that since the game had been launched, Team Meat was able to successfully launch the game in various consoles except in Nintendo's Wii U. If the recent information shared by Team Meat co-founder Tommy Refenes materializes, it will be the first official appearance of the game in the Nintendo platform.

"Undoubtedly a hint for Nintendo owners, it seems like Team Meat may be pushing to release their indie-darling on Wii U next. Super Meat Boy originally released October 20, 2010 on Xbox 360 and has since been re-released on PC, Mac, and (as of today) PlayStation consoles," My Nintendo News said.
