iPhone 6s European Release Date: Handset To Be Available On Oct. 9: Pre-Order Rose Gold 6s Plus Now

Apple users in Europe have something to cheer about. Tech giant Apple is now accepting pre-orders for the company's latest next-generation smartphones, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. The company said that iPhones will be available on Oct. 9, a report from iDigital Times said on Thursday.

"As per usual, you must carry some form of government issued photo ID to verify your identity and be able to pick up your new smartphone if you pre-order, and each customer is limited to purchasing at most two iPhones at a time. Before the year's end, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will go on sale in 130 more countries. Apple is slow on these roll outs, only releasing the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in twelve countries initially," the report said.

Apple Insider has identified the complete list of countries where Apple users can place their reservation and claim the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus units starting on Friday. These are Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Maldives, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

"Apple is planning to launch the 6s and 6s Plus in more than 130 countries by the end of 2015. The next steps include rollouts in the Middle East on Oct. 10 and launches in India, Malaysia, and Turkey on Oct. 16," the report said.

According to iDigital Times, China is the latest country that was added to the first release cycle because of "strong pre-order and first weekend sale numbers." It joins Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK and the U.S.

"Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple's history," Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, said in a statement. "Customers' feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can't wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9."
