Elizabeth McCord's (Téa Leoni) allegiances will be tested in the upcoming episode of "Madam Secretary" Season 2. The Season 2 premiere episode was full of tension after the successful hack of the Air Force One's computer system. McCord considers it an act of war.
In the new episode, McCord will be dealing with the shocking kidnapping of a State Department official in Afghanistan. According to the official synopsis posted on Cartermatt, McCord will be receiving advice from former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright (who plays as herself) and President Dalton (Keith Carradine) on how to negotiate the safe return of her personnel.
It was earlier reported that Albright will be playing as herself in the second episode of the season. According to sources, she was offered to play a different character; however, she refused.
Latin Post reports that McCord will be receiving conflicting advice from both of them and McCord will choose to ignore the President's advice and go with Albright's instead. According to the report, this will cause a certain tension between her and the President. Nonetheless, McCord's top priority as of the moment is to bring back the State Department official safely no matter what the consequences may be.
Meanwhile, McCord's husband, Henry McCord (Tim Daly), also has something in his hands as he tries to spy on one of his students whom he suspects to be having some anti-American feelings. It was reported that in episode 2 he will be taking his mission a step further as he will convince one of his students to spy for him.
It was also reported that the executive producer of the show, Eric Stoltz, will be appearing on screen as McCord's brother, Peter. It was revealed that the character will be featured in the backstory about McCord's family.
"Madam Secretary" Season 2 episode 2 will air on Oct. 11.
