A massive mansion on Kent Island in Maryland is listed on the market for $2.5 million. The four-storey property is set on 18 acres of land, with a 180-degree waterfront view.
Based on the report of Curbed, the huge 15,912-square-foot single family home was previously used as a bed and breakfast by a couple who went under fire with the neighborhood in the Stevensville community, because they held too many events in the property. The owners requested an amendment to a code that restricted bed and breakfasts from hosting parties, weddings, receptions, and picnics, but it was denied.
According to the listing, this home isn't at its 100 percent and that it may need some care and maintenance.
This eight-bedroom mansion includes an indoor pool, theater room, ballroom, and marble flooring.
Starderm said the Queen Anne's County Planning Commission said "no" on April 12 to Richard and Joan Reinheimer's request to amend Chapter 18 of the Land Use and Development Code, particularly, to add text allowing events such as picnics, parties, weddings and receptions on-site.
The neighbors were happy that the county did not endorse the amendments so far, but they are not convinced that the couple will stop holding events at their home.
The Reinheimers were fined $500 by the county for continuing to hold events on their property, and it was seconded by another $500 fine.
The neighbors say that the couple said they didn't want to be a nuisance to the neighbors, but that is exactly what they continue to do.
The sprawling 18-acre estate of Richard and Joan Reinheimer in Kent Island offers mesmerizing 180 degree panoramic views of the Chesapeake Bay and Bay Bridge. With a massive space of over 15,000 square feet, this could be your ultimate retreat house on Kent Island, just minutes from Bay Bridge.
The mansion has eight bedrooms, seven full baths, three and a half bathrooms, marble floors, in-door pool, theater room, ballroom, and a garage that could accommodate up to three cars.
