Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update: LG G4 to Receive Update on December; G2, G3, G Stylo to Have It Too

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be rolled out to LG G4 smartphones.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow has no final release date yet, but a certain mobile carrier in the US has disclosed via the track list, a confirmation that LG is really coming nearer to the great Android upgrade in history.

LG G4 has already been prepared for the final over-the-air (OTA) upgrade of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. One of US' largest mobile carriers when it comes to consumer population, T-Mobile has announced on its support page the list of devices to get the upgrade. The 2015 flagship of LG, smartphone G4 is fortunate to be part of the list.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow list disclosed by the said carrier is made to trace the launch of the upgrade to the G4 devices. It could mean that the upgrade relies on the region and carrier.

LG G4 previous reports say that the device is scheduled to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow possibly in December or earlier. Apart from G4, some other LG devices will also get the Marshmallow upgrade along with its forerunners G2 and G3 and G Stylo. Nearly all G2 and G3 handsets are currently running on Android 5.1 Lollipop, although G Stylo has only upgraded to an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow, according to TMO News, is going to bring these enhancements and features:

1) Direct share. Start sharing links, files, photos, news and others with the chosen contacts easily and quick.

2) Doze Mode. This latest feature screens the phone and will put it into sleep when not in use to prolong its battery life.

3) Android Pay. Through an easy tap, users may bring up the Android Pay to make purchases with no need for another app to be launched.

4) Simpler control of volume. Spontaneously control the media and ringtone volume.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow was also announced to debut on Google's own devices LG-made Nexus 5X and Huawei-made Nexus 6P, as well as Android One phones.
