Popular Radio host, humorist and philanthropist, Don Imus, and his wife Deirdre have finally managed to unload their Westport, Connecticut, home for $14.4 Million. The house sold after it received a number of pricechoppers.
Imus first listed his home for $30 million in 2005. Failing to sell over the years, Imus readjusted the price to $25 million in 2011 before relisting it for $19.9 million in January. Finally, the home has managed to sell, albeit with a $5.5 million discount.
According to the listing records at Zillow, the 10,000 square feet Greco-Georgian style home was first purchased by Imus in 1997 for $4.6 million. The home has six bedrooms, six full and one half bathroom. In addition to the home's main unit, the property features a two-bedroom gate house, a nine-car garage and a two-bedroom guest house. It has lush green lawns and around 215 feet of private waterfront area as well.
Moreover, the home sits in an affluent neighborhood. Hedge fund manager Marc Lasry, film producer Harvey Weinstein and famous financier Rajat Gupta, who recently got evicted for insider trading, also own properties in the area.
The sale was handled by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage who said that the home was one of the priciest transactions of Westport area, reports The Republic.

Along with the Connecticut property, Imus also owns an apartment in Manhattan and a ranch in La Ribera, Mexico. The Imus Ranch is a working cattle ranch for kids suffering from Cancer. It has been hosting more than 1000 kids a year, since 1998.
The Imus Ranch website reads:
"Don and wife Deirdre will continue to run the Imus ranch for kids with cancer, raise more millions for the Tomorrows Children Fund, the CJ Foundation for SIDS, America's veterans and their care, autism studies, environmental concerns, and all the countless other things Don does, most with notice neither assigned nor sought."
