'Reign' Season 3 Spoilers & Air Date: Mary & Francis Find A New Ally; Will Charles Cause More Trouble?

"Reign" Season 3 will have major changes as it premieres this week on The CW. It was earlier confirmed that Season 3 will be moved to a new timeslot and will air during Fridays instead of Thursdays in an effort to help boost its ratings.

It was also reported that there will be a lot of returning characters which include Catherine (Megan Follows) and Charles (Spencer Macpherson). According to Ecumenical News, a teaser photo of Season 3 was released, showing Catherine and Charles in deep conversation. This is reportedly surprising since both characters were not in good terms in the previous season.

With Charles being known for causing more trouble, will he be doing more mischief in the upcoming season? It was reported that when Francis' (Toby Regbo) brother returned from Spain, he told him that he wanted to change and learn from him.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that the health of the King of France will become a big problem in the upcoming season. Showrunner Laurie McCarthy revealed in a recent interview that Francis' health might take a turn for the worse in Season 3, and this will affect his judgment and the decisions he and his wife Mary will make (Adelaide Kane).

Despite this problem, Christian Today reported that Francis and Mary's relationship will become stronger. With the problems coming their way, they will find an unexpected ally in the person of the usually scheming villain Lord Narcisse (Craig Parker).

It was earlier reported that Season 3 will be about the battle of the queens as Catherine devises a plan with England's Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) to destroy Mary. On the other hand, there will also be some unexpected twists as Antoine (Ben Aldridge) returns to France. It is expected that there will be some interaction between Bash (Torrance Coombs) and Greer (Celina Sinden).

"Reign" Season 3 will premiere on The CW tonight.
