'Pretty Little Liars' Reveals Spoilers and New Teaser [WATCH]

"Pretty Little Liars" is currently on a mid-season break, and when they return to the small screen in January, there will be a five-year time jump to the story. Last Friday, the show's five main characters--Sasha Pieterse, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, and Shay Mitchell--dropped by at the New York Comic Con to unveil a new teaser. The short clip will be the "first four minutes" in the show's comeback episode.

Prior to the break, it was revealed that their unknown letter sender "A" was actually Alison's brother who went by the name of "Charlotte." The video, shared with Buzzfeed, showed that the five girls have left their past behind, and are now leading separate lives. But fans will be seeing a reunion soon, as Alison is seen preparing for Charlotte's hearing and writes all the girls a letter, asking them to come back to Rosewood.

"I'm asking for five minutes with you. Five minutes to explain. Five minutes that can change the whole world," she says through her letter.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the actresses confirmed the clip's revelations during their panel talk. Troian Bellissario implied that her character, who is seen sitting in front of the White House, is now dabbling in politics. She said, "Spencer's an incredibly intelligent character and she hasn't gotten to realize her full potential. For her to be so successful in her career and be in a political world was very exciting for me."

As for Aria, Lucy Hale said that her character "falls in love with writing. The preview showed her wistfully picking up a book by Ezra Fritz, and Hale added that fans will soon find out her connection with the author.

Hanna, who is seen in the clip flying first class, is now living in New York, working in fashion. "Like 'Devil Wears Prada,'" Ashley Benson said.

Meanwhile, Shay Mitchelle said her character Emily has had the roughest five years among the girls. In the teaser, she's in a tropical resort somewhere, working as a bartender. She said, "She moves away, too, and I think out of all the girls her time away is probably the hardest. She goes through some things during those five years."

With its return, the show promises to take its audiences to a whole new level of scandals and drama. Sasha Pieterse said that it will be "a totally different show - new story, new secrets, new lies." What remains unchanged, though, is the connection the five "Liars" has, even if they haven't kept in touch. "They'll always be in each other's lives ... it's complicated," said Lucy Hale.

"Pretty Little Liars" season 6B premieres on Jan. 12, 2016 on ABC. A special episode primer entitled "Flash-Forward" will air this Nov. 24.
