The Witcher 3 1.10 Patch is Now Out: Biggest Patch Ever

The first game patch for the action role-playing video game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" just got released yesterday and the file size is outrageous.

The patch might require more than 15GB hard disk space. For those wondering what the patch contains, CD Projekt's Marcin Momot stated on the Witcher 3 forums that "it's the largest collection of fixes, improvements and various enhancements we've brought to "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" to date.

"All told, it packs a pretty impressive six hundred changes, including fixes for a load of quests, optimizations that'll make things smoother on PC and consoles, over one hundred fifty stability improvements to iron out hiccups, additional conversations with key characters that will enhance your relationships with them as well as the story as a whole, and a major and much-awaited fix that should take a good bit of the pain out of dealing with items in the Inventory by improving how items are ordered and sorted."

According to PC Gamer, there is a 13-page PDF file that contains the full breakdown of the 1.10 patch. Included in the said document is the information on quest updates which alone takes up six pages already. Momot notes however that even if the list is lengthy it is not complete and "hardly exhaustive."

Momot also wrote on Twitter, "The @witchergame patch 1.10 is going to be around 15gb on consoles (depending on SKU) and between 6-15gb on PC (depending on platform)."

As for PlayStation 4, the file requires about 17GB of space. Those who have downloaded the update report an issue with items and schematics disappearing, according to PlayStation Lifestyle. CD Projekt Red was quick to explain that it only applies to DLC items in new game and a fix is on the way. So there is another patch and players are advised to hold on to your saved files made before the patch.
