Just a month ago, it was reported that Michael Easton's character as Dr. Silas Clay being fired from ABC's "General Hospital." What happened came as a shock for Michael because he had no idea that he will soon be losing his job. His exit on the show was part of the storyline but a lot of his diehard fans were disappointed.
According to Soap Opera Spy, since Easton's exited "General Hospital" there have been rumors about his possible come back. It has been known that there was a change in the team of head-writers and this is one of the reasons there are strong speculations that he might return in the show.
Michael's character as Dr. Clay was well-loved that is why his exit did not go very well to a lot of GH fans. In fact, Easton's loyal fans took to social media their sentiments about his exit. There were also petitions begging ABC to bring Easton back. Fans are really hoping Dr. Clay will come back to Port Charles.
However, last Oct. 8, Michael released a statement on his Facebook page. Easton posted, "MANY HAVE ASKED...Not sure how this rumor got started but I have not been within ten miles of the GH studio since I left in July. There were many questions about a recast or the use of a double but I have no information about any of that and you would have to ask the production.
And on the last part he thanked his fans for their continuous support and said, "Thank you again for the kind words and for keeping me in your thoughts. Love, Michael."
According to the ABC Soaps In Depth, Michael remained positive in spite of being fired from "General Hospital." He takes things as they come as he said, "I'm not rushing into anything. I'm going to look to see what's out there, be patient and enjoy time with the family. And do a little writing to clear my head."
