Though still months away from its official start, the X-Files miniseries has given its awaiting audience a glimpse of what is to come. During the recently concluded New York Comic Con last Saturday, X-files mini-series premiered its first episode. The team up of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would once again be seen chasing mysteries as agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully of the hit American science fiction horror drama television series, X-files, but this time around it comes with a twist.
The first episode of the X-files, titled "My Struggle," introduced the changes after a long period of hiatus. Aside from dealing with the new environment and paranormal activities, the main characters would also be dealing with the common struggles of a normal life and relationship. One of the most noticeable transformations is the change of relationship of the two main characters, Mulder and Scully. The advanced screening of the premiere episode showed that even fictional characters like Mulder and Scully are not immune to real life crisis. As depicted on the first episode, agents Mulder and Scully are no longer living together anymore.
In line with the said change of character relationship, executive producer Chris Carter faced some questions from fans about such setting. But Carter was quick in reply saying that it's made as such in order to "be true to the passage of time. They're not living under the same roof and that was a conscious thing," he added. "Mulder and Scully have had their difficulties. I think Mulder and Scully have hit one of those."
Aside from some changes on the script and storyline, viewers and avid alien fans should expect better and slicker effects than it used to be before. The addition of new characters, which would have a big impact in keeping the bizarre and mystery encounters rolling, should also be expected as each episode would gradually introduce the totality of the X-files revival miniseries.
