Search giant Google is set to release its latest flagship smartphone, the Nexus 6P, in Japan. It was said that Google's latest smartphone will be available in retail stores later this month. Google's Nexus 6P will be exclusively sold by Japan's leading mobile career, Softbank, a report from iDigital Times said.
According to the report, Softbank is actually the parent company of U.S-based carrier, Sprint. The Japan-based mobile carrier has announced to the public that Google' Nexus 6P is now available for pre-orders. However, it was stressed that there's scarcity of information about Nexus 6P's release in Japan.
"Pricing is currently unknown for the phablet; however, it will likely cost the same as through Google, if not more so, given the fees associated with carriers, such as one to change devices or to sign a new contract. Given that Softbank is not offering the full range of storage options for all the the Nexus 6P variants, it is also too early to make a definitive conclusion as to if Google itself will offer the Gold variant in either 32 GB or 128 GB configurations. Softbank, meanwhile, will not offer any of the colors in 128 GB," according to Android Authority.
Nexus 6P is said to be powered with a 2.0GHz octa-core, 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor Adreno 430 GPU. It will come with 3 GB of RAM and a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution. The phone's camera is said to be 12.3 MP with an IR laser-assisted autofocus.
Softbank's gold version of the Nexus 6P will be called the Nexus 6P Special Edition. The phone comes with a variety of storage options such as 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.
"The Nexus 6P pricing starts at $499 for the 32 GB model, the 64 GB version is $549 and the 128 GB option will set you back $649. In the UK it costs £449 for the 32 GB model, £499 for the 64 GB and £579 for the 128 GB. In Australia, the Nexus 6P starts at AU$899 for the 32GB model," Tech Radar said.
