Fans of "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" are not only excited to see Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four's (Theo James) relationship progress in the sequel; they are also looking forward to what lies ahead for Tris and Peter (Miles Teller).
According to Design & Trend, Tris and Peter's relationship is quite impressive because they started off as enemies in "Divergent." At one point, Peter was also instrumental in having Tris killed. However, he later on aligned himself with her and Four, and even helped Tris escape Erudite.
Meanwhile, book author Veronica Roth also talked about Tris and Peter's relationship and revealed that they were supposed to have a special scene in the book "Allegiant." In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Roth explained that fans should have known Peter's vulnerable side if "Strike First, Strike Hard" wasn't deleted.
"It was really difficult to cut this scene from 'Allegiant.' I originally had an entire section where Tris, Tobias, and the others reunite with the rest of Dauntless - a kind of quiet rebellion in which they assert their choice to stay a faction no matter what the factionless say," Roth explained.
The author added, "And this moment that Tris has with Peter was a part of it. It showed some of Peter's vulnerability as well as how much Tris has changed since he first tormented her in this dormitory. She is stronger, now, but harder too; not all of the lessons she has learned are good ones."
In other news, Roth explained why she had to cut down Tris and Peter's scene from the book. According to her, their story, as well as the Dauntless story, slowed down the narrative of the novel.
"But I cut the Dauntless section because it slowed down the plot when I needed to speed it up, and with it went Tris and Peter," she said.
The collector's edition of "Allegiant," which contains 48 additional pages, is now available in the United States.
