Many fans of Kpop group, Girls' Generation were shocked when Jessica Jung announced in 2014 that she is no longer a member of the nine-girl group. While many fans believed that Jessica chose to leave the group because of her plans to pursue a solo career, a recent report revealed the reason behind her departure from SNSD. Did she really want to return to SNSD but was refused by her fellow members?
A year after former Girls' Generation member, Jessica Jung announced her departure from the popular Kpop group, several reports offered explanation behind her sudden exit from the girl group. Koreaboo reported that Jessica already had plans of leaving SNSD since 2014 and was initially slated to depart from the group after their dome tour on June 24.
Issues surrounding Jessica's sudden departure surfaced on the Internet after several leaked images of SNSD's MV for "Catch Me If You Can" seemingly showed that Jessica was included in the song. Samchon, who was reportedly known as a prominent figure in the SONE community and shares valuable pieces of information about the girls, revealed that the single was part of their Tokyo Dome tour.
"CMIYC had to be Tokyo Dome concert single. Jessica's quit ruined the single and the other members had to record it again, after the concert," Samchon tweeted.
The SNSD insider went on and revealed that the rest of the members, Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Seohyun, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Yoona and Yuri, reportedly had a hard time accepting Jessica's decision but decided to mentally prepare themselves before the hiatus. The song, "Divine" was dedicated for Jessica's last performance on stage
Yibada also cited that Jessica changed her decision to leave the group and wanted to stay with SNSD, but the rest of the members refused to let her return.
"you can never be girls' generation if you don't devote your soul. Jessica wasn't fully into the team. let her do her business," Samchon added.
The outlet noted that back in Sept. 2014, Jessica posted on her Weibo account that she was shocked to find out that she has already been kicked out of Girls' Generation.
