George RR Martin Net Worth: 'Game of Thrones' Writer's Short Story To Be Adapted Into New Werewolves TV Series

The famous "Game of Thrones" creator is back on the spotlight as he once again came up with something worth raveling about. "GOT" viewers may have familiarized themselves with the Dire Wolves, the protector of the Stark children, and the symbol of House Stark, but author George RR Martin will be bringing in a new breed of wolves. He will be introducing werewolves.

The book, "Skin Trade", was originally published as a horror story collection, which won the World Fantasy Award for Best Novella in 1989. It was then turned into a four-part comic book series in 2013. It was co-written by Martin himself along with Daniel Abraham and was illustrated by Mike Wolfer.

"Skin Trade" revolves around the investigation of a serial killer who would skin his victims. The book will be adapted by Cinemax which is HBO's sister network.

As per Telegraph, the series is still in the works and is not yet officially confirmed by the network, so specific details were given as to when it would premier. On one of his blog post however Martin wrote that the novella would work well in screen.

"I have always thought there was a TV series or maybe a feature film in Willie Flambeaux and Randi Wade, to handle the adaptation, script the pilot, and produce the show (should we get a greenlight), we've tapped a terrific talented young scriptwriter named Kalinda Vazquex, whose previous credits include work on Prison Break and Once Upon A Time."

Martin already made a name for himself, and when "Game of Thrones" became a hit, his net worth skyrocketed. As of Celebrity Net Worth, he currently has an estimated net worth of $65 million, earning around $15 million per year. Not only was he the author of the famous series, but he also served as the executive producer for the show.
